Winter is over and spring is in full swing which means that Summer is coming right around the corner. This means one thing for people training for the upcoming triathlon circuit this summer..outdoor training. Whether doing a full triathlon or a half triathlon this time of year comes with great delight for Iron Men and Women across the colder parts of the United States. They can finally start training in the elements for the outdoor event.

When training for the swimming portion of the event it is important to realize that is it warmer, but, it’s still not that warm in the water.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here. You will get cold in the open waters if you don’t have the proper protection. Make sure you get a good quality wet suit for training and for the actual races. This is not a piece of equipment that you want to skimp on.

It is important to have the right shoes for the running portion of the triathlon. Runners will now be training on the hard cement outdoors instead of the padded indoor tracks at their gyms. So, it is important that they have the proper shoes so they don’t destroy their ankles before the event even comes around. Many shoe stores have machines that will measure your gate to match you with the proper shoe for your training.

April also marks the time of year where cyclists move from the bike machine to real thing. It’s nice to feel like your actually going somewhere when you are on a bike. The only issue here is that you now need proper safety gear because of the hazards of being out on the open road with other bikes and sometimes traffic. Cyclists should make sure they have a quality helmet and good pads to keep them from being hurt if they take a fall.
