Where is the Tri Office located?

We are headquartered at 28 Brook Street in Corner Brook's downtown core.

Which airport should I fly into to visit Corner Brook?

Western Newfoundland is serviced by two main airports, located in Deer Lake (YDF) and Stephenville (YJT).

What temperatures can I expect?

The average seasonal temperature for Corner Brook in July is 15-20 degrees Celsius.

Are there any safety issues I should be aware of when cycling in Corner Brook?

During your race you will be cycling in the left-hand lane on a closed course.  Please keep in mind that traffic drives on the right-hand side of the road in Canada, so when you are training you will be cycling in the OPPOSITE direction that you'll ride on race day.

Helmets are mandatory for all cyclists in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Is there any banking information that I should be aware of?

The Canadian dollar is the commonly accepted currency in Newfoundland & Labrador, and all major credit cards should be valid.

The following banks have branches in Corner Brook: BMO Bank of Montreal, Brook Street Credit Union, CIBC, Newfoundland & Labrador Credit Union, RBC Royal Bank, ScotiaBank, and TD Canada Trust.

How will I be recognized as a participant?

What if I have bike troubles?

Is your course open or closed?

For the safety of competitors and spectators no vehicle access will be permitted on course commencing 6am on race day. Roads will remain closed until all competitors have completed and site is deemed safe to resume normal traffic flow.

What do I do if I lose something?

Items left at the race site following the days activities will be transported to our office, please drop by or call 639.2000 to reclaim your possessions. We strongly advise you label all your personal belongings.

Is there security at the site?

The transition area will have 24-hour security during race week. Please note that athletes are responsible for their personal belongings.

Will my mobile phone work in Corner Brook?

Only phones that operate on the CDMA network are supported in Newfoundland and Labrador. Hi Tech Communications offers a limited number of rentals available on a first come, first served basis. Rates and charges vary depending on usage needs. For more information, contact Hi Tech Communications at 709.634.3000.

Are homestays available?

Homestays are available for the triathlon only.  These accommodations are given on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in staying with a family please let athlete services know as soon as possible.  You can do this by emailing us at athletes@triourworld.com.

How do I book hotel accommodations?

There are several hotels, motels, cabins, condominiums, apartments and cottages that offer accommodations in the Corner Brook area. Links to their contact information can be found in the accommodations section.  

Will there be transportation to and from the airport?

Transportation will be provided to and from the airport for athletes competing in the World Cup Triathlon.  Athletes traveling with a team to the Duathlon World Championships should check with their National Federation to see what transportation has been arranged for them.
