Corner Brook BG Triathlon World Cup

Swim (1.5 km - 3 laps)

Corner Brook BG Triathlon World Cup athletes begin their race by swimming three laps around the Glynmill Inn Pond. Athletes are required to wear a wetsuit because average race day temperatures range from 18-20 degrees Celsius.

Bike (40 km - 6 laps)

After finishing their swim, athletes race up an incline to the transition area, located in the parking lot of the Sir Richard Squires Building. After mounting their bikes, athletes will turn left and proceed up a steep hill on the left side of University Drive. They turn around at the Arts and Culture Centre and head back toward Transition Area. After descending Mt. Bernard Avenue, cyclists sweep past City Hall and turn left onto Herald Avenue, make a quick right turn (between Fortis Towers and the Millbrook Mall) and head toward Griffin Drive to a second turnaround. Cyclists then head back to the transition area to begin the next lap.

Run (10 km - 4 laps)

As athletes begin the last leg of their race, they exit the transition area and make a left at the O'Connell Drive and Mount Bernard Avenue intersection, run through Margaret Bowater Park, and make a right turn onto Elswick Road. Continuing approximately 2/3 of the way up Elswick Road, runners then make a 180 degree turn and retrace their steps, crossing over the bridge in Margaret Bowater Park and veering to the right onto an unpaved trail before revisiting the transition area to begin the next lap.
